Wedding Photojournalism

Wedding Photojournalist Denis Reggie coined the phrase, "wedding photojournalism", some fifteen years or so ago. (Reggie, proclaimed as "the great wedding photographer of our day" by Town and Country, and "the best of the best" by Harper's Bazaar. Reggie, has covered countless celebrity weddings. His famous photo of John Kennedy, Jr. gallantly kissing the hand of his bride, Carolyn Bessette, appeared on over 1000 magazine covers around the world.)

Wedding photojournalism records an event from beginning to end, capturing the celebration in a series of emotion-filled storytelling images.

Formal groups are also photographed but in a minimal amount of time, on your schedule, so as not to detract from your day. The rest of your day can be spent doing what you really want to do, having fun! What results is the real story of your wedding day, portrayed as it unfolds, capturing all the wonderful and honest emotions.

What Makes My Services Special

I believe that your photographer should not control your wedding day. I don't attempt to create the day by constantly bothering the bride and groom throughout their wedding, forcing things to happen; the photographs end up looking artificial and stiff. This style of photographing weddings results in each one looking the same, only with different faces.

My approach focuses on the "real" wedding. I strive to convey on film the excitement and emotions of the day in photojournalistic style. A minimal amount of time is conveniently set aside to create the essential family poses, then I document your day as it unfolds naturally. My strength is in blending in so well that I often feel like (and am thought of as) a second cousin with a camera.

Clients of mine want their day to be documented, telling the story of the wedding for future generations to come, as it "really" happened. My goal is to remain unobtrusive, not imposing on moments that need to remain natural and genuine. My style is unobtrusive and photojournalistic with a fine-art flair, providing you with images that you can be proud to display on your wall as art pieces.
